Group and School Tours

The UMC Calgary Collection is a unique gem.  Offering group and school tours of its collection and the host parish, St. Vladimir’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, it is the only such facility in the city of Calgary.   Located with a beautiful view of the city, overlooking the Bow River in the community of Bridgeland, the UMC Calgary Collection is accessible and has convenient parking for cars and buses.

Open Tuesday 10:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. or by appointment. Admission by donation

Gift store features items such as cards, Icons, crosses, pysanky and pysanky supplies, books and CD’s.

The UMC Calgary Museum is uniquely designed to directly support the sections of the Alberta Social Studies Program that refer to the Ukrainian Canadian experience.  Cultural and historical artifacts, experienced docents, and educational opportunities include video, skits, treasure hunt and a church visit. Programs featuring Christmas and Easter traditions, and dance are also available.

UWAC Calgary Museum has a similar program for adult groups. 

Group and school tours have a cost of $2.00 per person.

Arrangements must be confirmed prior to the date.

Special Events


The Ukrainian Museum of Canada, Calgary Collection has access to artifacts from its sister Branches in Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg and Toronto. Occasionally, special exhibitions have been held to display these artifacts. Examples include:

The UWAC Calgary Museum has become a featured participant at the Calgary Ukranian Festival held in June each year.
